What can be more beautiful than an all white winter wedding, with a fresh layer of snow providing the perfect background? Planning a traditional all white wedding can work really well when Mother Nature helps with the decorations. Add in some accents in silver, and a little bling for an elegant touch.
Here are a few winter white wedding ideas to help you get started.
If you’re planning a winter wedding one of the first things you should consider is a winter white wedding cape, or jacket to look stunning with your dress, while it keeps you warm.

A Little Pink Wedding Inspiration

A Little Pink Wedding Inspiration

There are only a couple more days in October, and since it is breast cancer awareness month and we’ve been seeing a sea of pink, I thought I’d share a few pink wedding ideas and inspirations.
Let’s start with the dress. If you want something a little different than the usual white or ivory, pink is a very elegant color for a bridal gown.
Here is a pink tablescape to give you a few ideas for your table decorations. I love the bright bold orange and fuchsia centerpiece. Covered chairs are a great way to add an extra splash of your wedding …read more

Why Wedding Photos are Important, Pt. 7

Why Wedding Photos are Important, Pt. 7

Finding color on a black and white photo plus putting the wedding gown on the spotlight . I know I mentioned how wedding gowns with colored sashes became popular sometime ago, a black and white photo won’t really flatter this sort of design.
But I found out that it’s not totally impossible. Photographers can actually still make the color pop out of a black and white photo. They call it color separation, I think.
This certainly makes a more interesting photo. Not only does it offer a very artistic angle to a wedding photo, it also highlights the design of wedding gown …read more

The Story of the Turkish Wedding Dress

The Story of the Turkish Wedding Dress

If someone mentions the words, “wedding dress” I’d automatically think of white, lace, taffeta, organza, beading, satin and chiffon. These are some of the few elements that usually compose the wedding dress of today. So when I saw this Turkish wedding dress, my imagination became alive with thoughts of foreign wedding traditions and other historical bits about one of the important events in our life.
Technically, the dress itself is an amazing piece of costume. Deep purple velvet – one could call it aubergine – upon which was heavy real gold thread embroidery and spangles, couched over cardboard and padding. Entirely …read more

Wedding Fashion: Short Wedding Dress

Wedding dresses are, by tradition, made long. It’s more formal, elegant and romantic. But we have to acknowledge the fact that the length may not be flattering to all brides. On the other hand, the idea of cutting the hemline short wouldn’t be as special as wearing a long dress on your wedding day. It’s quite understandable that it’ll pose as a big dilemma for the bride.
How can one choose?

Unusual Wedding Dresses

Unusual wedding dresses are not as unusual as we think.
At my wedding, I got married in a common run-of-the-mill satin fabric. I wanted to wear a wedding gown from Pina (handloomed from Pineapple leaf fabric) but it was so expensive but if you can afford it, I don’t see why you can’t wear the fabric of your wedding dreams.
Here’s a list of unusual wedding dresses I’ve found recently:
1. Wedding Dress made of wool

Detachable Wedding Gown Sleeves

For fall and winter weddings, I foresee that David’s Bridal collection featuring detachable wedding gown sleeves will be a hit. At my sister’s wedding, she wore a bolero for the church wedding and took it off for the wedding reception and literally let her hair down from its coil to give a more informal look at the wedding celebrations.
Imagine being able to shed part of your gown for a ‘new’ look during your own wedding reception.
David’s Bridal now offers a variety of sleeve options to customize the gown of your dreams. Here are the steps to do it:

Bride Weds in World’s longest Wedding Veil

Bride Weds in World’s longest Wedding Veil

When I got married back in 2001, the trend for brides back then were very long veils or trains. I had a long-ish train but it was definitely short compared to the other brides before and after me. It’s definitely short compared to this Chinese bride who wore a 2 kilometer long wedding train! yaiks!
A bride wore a wedding dress with a 2km (1.2 mile) train to her wedding.
The groom’s family handmade the dress and more than 200 wedding guests took three hours to unroll the train and pin 9,999 red roses on it before the ceremony in China’s Jilin …read more
