Let’s start with the dress. If you want something a little different than the usual white or ivory, pink is a very elegant color for a bridal gown.

Here is a pink tablescape to give you a few ideas for your table decorations. I love the bright bold orange and fuchsia centerpiece. Covered chairs are a great way to add an extra splash of your wedding color, and make things just a little more elegant.

But I found out that it’s not totally impossible. Photographers can actually still make the color pop out of a black and white photo. They call it color separation, I think.

This certainly makes a more interesting photo. Not only does it offer a very artistic angle to a wedding photo, it also highlights the design of wedding gown the bride. You’ve spent a considerable amount of time (and money for sure!) on your wedding dress so I think it’s only fair that you take a few snaps that especially shows off the output of all your efforts.

A photo of the dress on the bed or on the mannequin simple isn’t enough. It’s always best if the photo shows off the wedding dress worn by the very bride who it’s made for!

Technically, the dress itself is an amazing piece of costume. Deep purple velvet – one could call it aubergine – upon which was heavy real gold thread embroidery and spangles, couched over cardboard and padding. Entirely made by hand. Considering its age, it is in wonderful shape, and as a costumer and someone who has a special interest in embroidery, I was absolutely fascinated by the construction.

Originally owned by Sara Levi Willis who was reunited with her wedding dress after 23 years. Reading bits of the story of her documented visit, helped me somehow picture out a little about how it must have felt like back in the 19th century in Turkey. Not totally but there’s that feeling of “age” and history whenever I look at the Turkish wedding dress.

Though they didn’t mention how Sara parted with her wedding dress for such a long time, I’m still recommending that you check out the post. It narrates some of the poignant memories Sara had with the dress. Happy reading!

How can one choose?

For this bride, she opted to go for a short wedding dress simply because it flattered her most. Makes sense, really. Wouldn’t a bride want to wear something that will truly make her look her best on one of the most special days in her life? That’s what truly matters, in my opinion.

Key things to remember:

• Bride’s preference
• Over-all wedding theme
• Availability of wedding dress designs

What height is considered too short to wear a long wedding dress anyway? It will depend on the bride’s ability to carry it off. If the desired wedding theme, think warm, casual and laid-back, can accommodate a short wedding dress, then opting to go that route is feasible. And if you’ve got a variety of designs in short wedding dresses to allow you to say that you’ve found that perfect wedding dress then go for it!

A friend is considering to go short on her wedding especially after seeing the Lanvin bride mannequin that it can be glamorous, too. But, personally, I still love how long wedding dresses look. It’s not everyday that you can splurge on something so elaborate and elegant.

Pina wedding gown

At my wedding, I got married in a common run-of-the-mill satin fabric. I wanted to wear a wedding gown from Pina (handloomed from Pineapple leaf fabric) but it was so expensive but if you can afford it, I don’t see why you can’t wear the fabric of your wedding dreams.

There’s a bride in China who wore a stunning wedding dress.

3. Duck tape wedding gown

It’s either the couple are trying to save on paying for a ‘real’ wedding attire or they just want to say true to their chosen wedding theme: duck tape!

A bride wore a wedding dress with a 2km (1.2 mile) train to her wedding.

The groom’s family handmade the dress and more than 200 wedding guests took three hours to unroll the train and pin 9,999 red roses on it before the ceremony in China’s Jilin Province.

Groom Zhao Peng, a 28-year-old railway worker, wanted to challenge the current world record of a wedding train of 1,579 metres, the state run Xinhua news agency reported.

I am not sure I wanted a wedding train or veil that long. Do you know how heavy that is on the head? There are some couples who want their weddings to be remembered by others whether it’s through a unique bridal party dance or a wedding dance thriller or to have a life-size image of you for your wedding cake and now the latest, the longest wedding train to compete with what the record in the Guinness.

Remember though that while you want to achieve worldwide fame, you also have to think about your (and if you’re not the bride), your bride’s comfort. It’s hard enough to maintain composure as you walk down the aisle where all eyes are on you, and then have to think about not getting pulled back by 2 kilometers of wedding veil!

However, to each his or her own and if it makes you happy then go for it!
