Today I have some winter wedding invitations to show you with a little snowflake inspiration.

The first one has a delicate sheer look that makes you think of winter and snow. There’s even a delicate snowflake printed in the sheer window on the front of the card.

Or celebrate the snow by topping your invitation with beautiful snowflakes.

My favorite is this embossed snowflake card. There’s a rhinestone right in the center of the snowflake.

In the spotlight today is a new wedding online shop that, though not entirely servicing every bit that composes a wedding, caters to certain details which brides can leave to purchase online. Shopping for these little details, some are important after all, has never been more convenient, am I correct? But don’t let my biases push you to do something you’re not comfortable doing. But it’s a nifty idea!

The Planning

You should leave at least a 3-month lead time from selecting the right wedding invitation vendor to the time you send the wedding invitations to your guests.

The Invitation

The design and type of your wedding invitation would normally set the tone of your wedding. If you are planning to have a casual or informal wedding then there is no need to make your wedding invitation elaborate. If you having a wedding motif, it is also nice to have that color included as part of the design of your wedding invitation.

Wedding Invitation Wording

It’s really up to you what you want to put in it, the most important parts are the date, time, venue and type of affair. Anything other than that are “nice to haves”. If your parents are paying for the entire wedding or shouldering most of the wedding expenses then it’ll be nice for their names to be included in the invitations. There are a lot of modern invitations out there now that gives the ability for couples to do what they want with the wordings of their invitation.

The RSVP

Some couples include a separate RSVP cards for those guests. We didn’t as we knew our guests would either ring or email their response. What we included at the bottom of our invitation are: when to RSVP by, who to RSVP to and the contact details (email and phone). I assigned my Maid of Honor to chase up the guests for their response. I included her name in the RSVP information. If the guests have not responded by the deadline you have given them, get your Maid of Honor to follow them up. You need to confirm numbers for catering purposes.

The Wedding Envelopes

I’ve always loved receiving wedding invitations where my name on the envelope was handwritten. We hire a calligrapher to do ours to ensure that we have gorgeous handwriting on each of the envelopes. Proper etiquette also indicates that envelopes should be addressed by hand rather than typewritten or horror of horrors, printed from the computer!

Mailing Invitations

At our wedding, we mailed our wedding invitations 6 weeks before the wedding. I found this lead time just right. It’s not too early that the guests forget aobut it but it’s not too late either that people have already made plans because you’ve given them little notice regarding your wedding.

1. Wedding Dress

Wedding dresses don’t have to be limited to satin, silk or other usual run-of-the-mill fabrics. If you want something different or if you are into peacocks then why not have a wedding dress made out of peacock feathers?

2. Wedding Bouquet

3. Wedding Invitation

You may not use the actual peacock feathers on the invitation but you can have the images of the peacock feathers on them. It goes well with the whole peacock wedding theme. I found this invitation via The Art of Inviting.

All you need to do is DESIGN (customize online invitations and announcements)

Next is you DELIVER personalized envelopes to your guests’ inboxes (email, that is!)

Right after delivering it, you MONITOR as guests receive their invitation. Through the help of Paperless Post, you can also track your guests’ replies.

Isn’t that great? I’m hosting my friend’s baby shower next month and I’m thinking of using Paperless Post’s services. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Is this something you had to deal with? How did you deal with wedding RSVPs?

To counteract the attitude of the wedding guests, I assigned my MOH (Maid of Honor) to ring the people who have not responded back to our wedding invitation (ie after the RSVP deadline date). Majority of them confirmed then but we still had no shows at the wedding. Out of the 120 people we invited, 105 said they could make it, around 5 didn’t show up (no advice at all. How rude!) and a handful of my relatives brought their own dates (even though we didn’t ask them to bring a guest!)
