Aquadoodle Mats

aquadoodleamazon1.jpg
One of my friends LOVES these Aquadoodle mats. It’s one of her go-to toys for gifts for friends and family. The mat only requires a water-filled pen to make designs on the mat, which makes for clean play and very little clean up!

The product gets mixed feedback in the comments/review section at Amazon, but seems to be a good buy overall. I think any art-type product that only uses water would be welcome in most homes! A commenter even mentions that pictures can be drawn with just a Q-tip, since the mat only comes with one pen.

Do any of you have this product? Is it a well-used toy in your house, or something more to contribute to the clutter?

My daughter loves any kind of art type toy. I’ve looked at this and love the fact that it’s a water pen. The only drawback that I can see is that the picture will disappear when the water dries up. Sometimes my daughter wants to leave her pictures for Daddy to see when he comes home.

I hate to say it but this is one I don’t recommend. I couldn’t wait for my daughter to open it and it was great while it lasted but it got too wet. That’s right it would no longer work because she had too much fun with it. So watch how much they draw on it because it can stop working.

  3. Kailani: I think they said it takes about a minute for the picture to disappear. I think it might bum the kids out a bit, but I think Baldman would love a few less papers cluttering the house! :)

Eliza: Thanks for the honest review! Never hesitate to share an honest experience with a toy, good or bad. We need to know the truth of the product, and not just what the advertisers want to tell us. :) I’d never heard this result before with this toy, but it’s good info to have. And congrats to you for your new baby! :)

Kerri knows I love this toy! I have had no problem with mine to quit working. My kids have walked across it with dirty shoes and I washed the mat and it did great! I also like to pack this toy up when we go to grandmas! They can’t ruin anything. Hands down love this toy! : )

  5. Hey Annie! :) How’d you know I was talking about you? ;) I never would think to throw something like this in the washer. You come up with the best tips! And, yeah, seems like it would be a great g-parent house toy to not worry about messing their things, like when S got crayon on Titi’s new white couch! Yikes! Good idea. :)
