Herb Weisbaum of MSNBC.com asked teachers at child care centers in the greater Seattle area to rate toys and here are the best educational toys they chose:
- Bristle Blocks Twirlie Tots
- Talking Video Phone
- SmartVille Alphabet Train Station
- Spark Art Easel
- TJ Bearytales
- Power Chutes Start Set
- WonderWorks Talking Picture Book
Since we are more apt to talk about best toys rather than worst, here are the worst, most hazardous toys of 2006 according to World Against Toys Causing Harm. (I think they’re a bit sensationalistic. Any parent with good sense would be ok with any of following toys as long as they kept watch over their children.)
- Heelys
- Z launcher: turbo water balloon launcher
- Blossoms Stroller Toys
- Pottery Barn pyramid stacker
- Parris Bow & Arrow Set
- Zip-Ity Do Dolly
- Lil Snoopy
- Superman Lamp
- Sky Blaster
- Fear Factor Candy Challenge
