Charlie and Lola’s Lauren Child

Lauren Child, creator of the popular Clarice Bean and Charlie and Lola series, was featured in last week’s Saturday Times Magazine.
Lauren Child has incredibly vivid memories of childhood. So it’s no surprise her children’s books are a hit.
It helps also that she has very acute memories of her own childhood and finds she draws on them more and more: the cake she was given when she went round to someone’s house; being told off; the tendency, especially among bright children (like those who people Child’s work), to use too many words, as in the title of one of her award-winning books, I Will Not Ever Never Eat a Tomato.
Thank you, Lauren Child, for bringing to life such fantastic creations. You’re always welcome in our home (as long as you bring Charlie and Lola 
)!

We finally received the first two Charlie and Lola videos a couple of weeks ago from the library. The kids loved them! I saw the wobbly teeth one listed, and will make sure to keep my daughter away from it. Not only is she taunting me with her loose teeth, one of her little buddies tries to freak me out now, too!
