After the frenzy of Christmas gifts, you might be looking around your house wondering where in the world to put the profusion of toys, books, DVDs, and CDs. Well, I am. Right this minute.
The Arizona Republic has some ideas for organizing children’s clutter.
-
Designate a crafts station
-
Place dividers in drawers
-
Hang closet rods within reach
-
Organize children’s clothes by days of the week
-
Establish a pantry snack shelf at the hand level of little tykes (Although the French mama at school would frown upon letting children have snacks and giving them control over what they eat.)
-
Arrange a continental breakfast nook
-
Hang hooks for jackets and backpacks
-
Design a clean station
-
Create a project station
-
Establish an art venue with magnetized strips
-
Consolidate with an artist’s box
Read the article for why each of these suggestions work and what you need to implement them.
The ultimate trick to organizing clutter is simply to chuck it all! On the rare occasion when I’ve cleared the living room floor of toys, it’s amazing how much bigger the room looks.

Those are some great suggestions. Making life clutter free is always hard, made especially harder with the addition of children I am sure.
Here via the carnival of family life.
Lisa: thanks for stopping by! I’m embarrassed to say the list comes from the excellent article linked to in the list. Hope everyone gets the chance to read it.
