Do you know Big Idea’s Veggie Tales?

I love VeggieTales. And, I have to admit, I was not introduced to them after my children were born. No, I’ve known Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber longer than I’ve known my own children.
Big Idea Productions started releasing these videos of computer animated vegetables when my husband and I were in college. We were hooked on them, and started collecting them then. The creators utilize inspiration from the Bible (Dave and the Giant Pickle/Rack, Shack and Benny), classic TV (God Wants Me to Forgive Them? parodies Gilligan’s Island) and literature (Madame Blueberry as Madame Bovary) to weave their silly tales. The videos are funny, entertaining, and teach honorable values to kids (and any adults who happen to be watching them, too!).
The VeggieTales first made it to the big screen with Jonah – A VeggieTales Movie. Keep an eye out for their next feature film production scheduled for release in early 2008 called The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.
There is an abundance of VeggieTales “stuff” that is available. The characters can now be seen in video games, CDs, clothing, toys, books, a fun website for the kids and even bakery kits that display the faces of our favorite vegetables. But the VeggieTales originals are still the favorites at our house, for us and our kids.
What’s your favorite VeggieTales movie?

Our plush Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato are still going strong after nearly six years.
“God is bigger than the boogey man!!” LOVE IT!!!
I think that might be just a short episode on one of their films, but, I just love it!
And I love the one about Daniel and the lions – awesome stuff!!
“God is bigger than the…”
Oh great! Now I’m gonna be singing that all night! HAHAHA!!
Bald Man: Don’t forget that Larry did require some minor surgery early on. No scarring, amazingly enough.
Lisa: I think that’s from “Where’s God When I’m S-s-s-scared?” An early one. A breakthrough film that asks the great philosophical question, “Is God bigger than the Slime Monster? Because the Slime Master can squirt slime out of his ears. Can GOD squirt SLIME out of His ears?!” Or something along those lines.
I do love that one, too!
