Encouraging Children’s Interest in Science

heisen bearIf I were to guess, I’d say that many parents are more afraid of science class than their children. Well, time to put away the fear. There are loads of websites and science kits to guarantee that both you and your children have fun learning about science. One must-see site is Science With Me! where you can find science projects that are easily accomplished at home, worksheets, and other well-designed materials.

I particularly like Mr. Heisen-Bear, who’s available in video format whose video is now available for free on the site, because his name sounds like my alter-ego. The spelling is very similar to mine–Hsien–and many people mis-pronounce my name as high-sen (when it’s pronounced shen).

OK, so it’s not always about me. But it certainly is always about science!
