Expensive Children’s Bedrooms

Check out this graphic from the UK Times (multiply by about 2 for every £ to get US dollar amounts). Direct Line Home Insurance estimates that the average child’s bedroom has about £1,500 worth of goodies with computers, DVD players, and games consoles costing the most. What’s worse, kids have as much as both their mothers and fathers have combined.

Andrew Lowe, of Direct Line, said that parents felt under pressure to ensure that their children had up-to-date equipment because information technology plays an important part in education.

There is no doubt in our house that my son gets most of the goodies. My major indulgence is a prepared salad or latte every now and then and my husband has his occasional splurges but it’s not a constant drip of money like it is for our son.

If you did a guesstimate of your children’s belongings, how much money do you think it would all be worth?

I don’t even want to venture a guess. Although, I still think my husband’s toys exceeds anyone else’s in the family.

Here via Carnival of Family Life but you know I would have stopped by anyway!
