FAO Schwarz Web Presence

CropperCapture[315] Can you believe FAO Schwarz has been around for 145 years!? That is amazing. In those 145 years they have experienced a few troubled times with two bankruptcies.

CEO Edward Schmults realizes that they could potentially have hard times ahead again if they don’t do something about their web presence. He acknowledges that they need to improve it to be able to thrive in the years ahead.

How do they plan on doing that? Schmults wants to “add social features to the web site, enabling parents to comment on products and share ideas and concerns.” He is also considering a community for kids which would include a virtual world.

It’s obvious that if you sell toys and you don’t have a good presence on the web, then your sales will suffer. Even if you’ve been around or 145 years.
