Food doesn’t have to be boring! It can really be fun to create more than just the sandwich, or some carrot sticks. Fun food may even encourage your child to try something new (healthy even).
Here are some ideas I’ve found to make food more interesting for kids. Even better yet, let them help you create these fun foods:
- Make a Wall-E Sandwich
- Create a Watermelon Rubiks Cube to get your kids to eat more fruit.
- Fun for the big game~ A Guacamole Football Field
- Here’s a Very Tasty Caterpillar
- Or an Egg Chicken
- A really fun snack~ Strawberry Mice
- For dessert Oreo Penguin Truffles~ They’re way too cute!
Make these just because and your children will be thrilled. These recipes would also be fun for a sleep over, or birthday party. Enjoy!

arunasree~ You are so right, I love adding fun to our lunches and dinners. It usually encourages my son to try something new;-)
I’ve seen the rubiks cube before…it’s adorable!
The caterpillar is great – well they all are.
Not as healthy, but something kids love is Dirt and Worms Cake. I wonder if there’s a way to make a healthier (maybe even main course) version. Hmm …
