I’m not a Lego-maniac…

alego.jpgI’m not sure why. The tons of colorful pieces and varied shapes always look so enticing. I just don’t have a clue or any inspiration as to what to do with them.

Fortunately for my kids, their dad IS a Lego-maniac. He can sit with them and build boats, planes, buildings, people, and all kinds of stuff that would never occur to me to create with these bumpy, plastic cubes. He’s awaiting the day that we no longer have any “under 3s” in our home so that we can fill the toy box with those tiny Lego blocks. So far, all of their creations are with DUPLOS (or Mega Bloks, which work with Duplos.) The best I can offer is usually your standard tower. Oh so exciting.

But doesn’t this little Lego 3 Seat Play Table look like it could inspire even ME to create something unique and amazing? No? You’re right, I’m a lost cause when it comes to Lego creation. But it does look like a fun gathering place for the 3 kiddos to create memories, if nothing else.

BTW-Have you voted in our poll in the right sidebar? :D

I’m with you. I rather not play anything where I have to get creative and build something from scratch. My mind just doesn’t work that way. Now, give me a picture and I could build it in a jiffy!

Yes! I can’t wait to get some of the sets with directions. I think I know what the kids want for Christmas.

  3. Kailani: I’m pretty much hopeless, even with the pictures. I’m spacially challenged. :( Thanks for hosting the carnival!

Bald Man: And by “the kids,” you mean you, right? ;)

I used to love legos as a kid but lost all interest as soon as the lego kits became the thing to do. I was never a person that liked following somebody elses directions. And, I had creativity to spare growing up. My parents often tried to find ways to give my creativity away to strangers. Anything to get it out of the house.

  5. Mike: I could’ve borrowed some of that creativity! I think my kids would love it if I had more, too. “Coloring again?!?” Poor things. :D

  6. I loved legos as a young girl. My dad even built me my very own BIG box with several compartments to store them all. To this day it is one of the the favorite toys at Grandma’s house. I murmur everytime I step on one in my son’s room but it’s worth to see the smiles and quiet playtime he spends building!!

    Hugs,

  7. I wish I could say a murmur is all that comes out when I step on one. More like a yelp! and, “Who left this Lego on the floor to pierce my foot?!” Yes, I’m a bit melodramatic. :D But, yes, they are worth the quiet time they provide. ;)

    Thanks for stopping by, Holly!

I think any toy that requires that many little pieces is evil!

  9. Mary (Mert) says:

I always end up with a very sharp plastic cube embedded in one of my feet. :O) The last time it actually cut my foot open, so the legos went bye bye. Luckily my daughter didn’t notice too much. I think my husband is the same, he always oohs and aaahs over the new lego stuff.

  10. Mary: I feel you pain!! I’ve never had one actually pierce the skin, but I always thought that they could!!! So sorry you were the proof. :(
