Japanese Children’s Clothes and Toys

Japan is a great place to go for unique and innovative children’s clothing and toys. We lived there for almost five happy years and my son was born there so we’ve got quite a few children’s items that no one else we know has like a jungle gym complete with slide that’s made of plastic pipes which can be easily disassembled.

It’s a good thing I’m not much of a shopper (*cough*) or we would have gone broke there. The Japan Times has more on the luxury children’s clothing and toy scene in Japan with addresses and websites too.

fergettabout the kids’ stuff, I want that lovely light fixture! (I know it’s a chanda-I-can’t-spell-it). Of course, I have absolutely nowhere I could put such a light, but still. It’s wonderful. *sigh*

I am looking for some clothing for my son. Two years ago, I purchased for him a coat that wraps around and has one tie insidse and one tie outside. it is mated with a pair of matching shorts. What is that called and where might I be able to purchase more?
