And it's distracting to me b/c I spend most of the time trying to figure out who's who, rather than paying attention as to whether or not it's a decent film for the kids! About the 10th time through the film, I actually notice the story. And the famous names are definitely a marketing scheme for the adults. My kids have no idea who they all are! Except for Ellen as Dory. :D Agreed. The story had to be good, and the movie was actually advertised based on the story (imagine that), not with commercials that basically just listed the Hollywood celebrities in the cartoon. It's gotta be tough out there for voice actors these days. I'm not saying that the Clifford movie wasn't good, though - I haven't seen it.
