LEGO Tables – Are They Worth It?

LEGOs are one of those toys I’ve never really loved.  Even as a kid, I wanted to like them, but they just didn’t hold my interest.  These days, I have issues about the pieces being too small in some of the LEGO playsets, but I’ll save that complaint for another post.  For now, I want to hear opinions on LEGO play tables.

What do you think?  With triplets, I haven’t purchased a LEGO table yet, because I’ve only found one that looked large enough to give all three kids enough room to play without getting into eachother’s way and inevitably fighting.  The 3-sided LEGO table I found sells for $199.99, which is a hefty investment for something I’m not sure if my kids will use.

Do you have a LEGO table?  Do your kids use it?  What do you like or dislike about your LEGO table?

I purchased a an offbrand “lego” table for about $140.00. It has a 27 inch square top and is made with solid wood. My son was building projects that were too big for the 12″ square sheets you can buy. The Lego brand tables are just too expensive with the cheapest I have seen at $250.00 for a table that only 5 or 6 year old can pl;y with. Most Lego brand tables are in the $300 to $400.00 range and you are paying for the name. They are built similar to the off brand tables and usally have a storage hols in the center which limits the actual usefull area that one child can play with.

Buy the off-brand tables they are just as good, larger surface area and similar quality. Lego needs to stop price gouging.

Lego store just told me that the company they used no longer is in business, so they are discontinued. They are supposed to come out with another company to partner with soon.

      Good luck.

I’ve seen the three-seater lego table at BJ’s.

HI, I love the look of the 3 sided lego table avail at BJ’s, but I have 7 yr. old triplets and a 10 year old. Does anyone know of a Lego table for bigger kids? It’s the 10 yr. old that is totally into Lego’s. I like the storage area too w/4 kids, just wish it were taller!
        Thanks, Ellen
