If it’s close to her birthday or Christmas, then I tell her she has to wait for it. Doesn’t always work, though!

I say “Isn’t that nice? We’ll come back and see it again soon.”

Some things are just completely impractical. A lifesize robot shetland pony? A battery-operated mini-forklift? A princess play-castle? There is no place to put it, keep it, or use it. Epecially in the winter.

It’s like watching the monkeys at the zoo. They’re hilarious, child-like, and captivating, but we are not bringing one home.
