Miffy Exhibition in Scotland

Miffy’s coming to town for her 50th birthday! That is, if you’re in Edinburgh, Scotland. The National Library of Scotland will be showing Miffy memorabilia – drawings, sketches, prints and other artwork created by Dick Bruna. The exhibition will run from March 30 to June 3.
In 1955, Miffy was “born”, during a family holiday as a the result of Bruna watching his son with a toy rabbit and memories of pet rabbits he’d had as a boy.
Over the years, Miffy changed a little, but since 1963, she has remained the same throughout the books Bruna has written.
Aimed at two to six-year-olds, each book follows a very exact pattern – 12 illustrations on the right hand pages, with four-line poems on the left.
To me, Miffy is the liberated version of Hello Kitty because she actually has a mouth! Or is that her nose? And if it IS her mouth, why is it an X? So many questions and uncertainty.
You can catch Miffy before she goes traveling at the V&A Museum of Childhood in London, which I did not know existed but will be sure to take my son on his next school holiday.

I had no idea that Miffy was so old! I think that MenopausalMiffy is still enchanting
Noreen: Hi! Miffy is so adorable and has revamped herself over her 50 years. I suppose we all would do well to follow her lead.
