Is anyone else as excited about the movie Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium? It’s coming out on November 16th and this is definitely one I am taking the kids to. I love movies that are about toys and bringing life to them. The film also encourages us all to embrace our unique gifts that we may be afraid to use. It should be a good one.
To celebrate the spirit of Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, Walden Media and Toys for TotsTM are holding a World Record Toy Drive:
Walden Media and Toys for TotsTM will attempt to break the Guinness World Record® for the largest toy drive ever and we want YOU to be a part of it! Over one week, from November 6-13, 2007, movie theatres, schools, libraries, and others in 10 cities will celebrate the spirit of Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium and bring some magic to kids in need by hosting toy drives. Each city will attempt to collect at least 1200 pounds of toys. The cities are:
New York
Los Angeles
Chicago
Dallas
Miami
Boston
Atlanta
Denver
Seattle
Washington, DC
They’ll announce how much was collected on various networks. I hope they break a world record!
I’ll have more news and information about the movie throughout the next couple of weeks until the movie comes to theaters.

I just saw the movie last night with my grown daughter, son and daughter-in-law.
We all liked it very much. I have seen several negative reviews but I don’t think they are looking at the movie the way it was meant to be…It is a wonderful story about the fantastic value your imagination has and how we all need to strive to be who we feel we are. I, too, love stories and movies about toys having true value. I believe they are a great learning and teaching tool.
