Mr. Potato Head: Transformer

mrphplt.jpgKaren pointed me to a post over at Goodyblog featuring Mr. Potato Head as a Transformer-”Optimash Prime”. No surprise that it’s coming out at the same time as the new Transformers movie is about to be released. I must haveMr. Potato Head - Darth Tater missed it when they released Mr. Potato Head – Darth Tater. Oh my gosh, I saw that and it just cracked me up.

By the way, am I the only child of the 80’s who did not know what a Decepticon was? (Bald Man has to keep correcting me because I keep calling them “deceptitrons.”)

I’ve had a crash course on Transformers because S is absolutely WILD about them. We’ve begun a new collection of Autobots, Decepticons, and Mini-Cons. There is no end to the madness! Each one of them has a scary face and there must be hundreds of variations. Even one specific one has at least 3 toy versions. SAVE ME!

We were collecting Cars vehicles before…and are still short 3 as far as I know.

Oh I must admit to ordering 7 Transformers books–activity book, sticker book, DK Readers–under the guise of encouraging his budding reading skills. :D

  3. I only knew about Decepticon because of the obnoxious commercials that came on so much. I can still hear them, “Transformers, more than meets the eye.”

I love transformers. And I can’t wait till it comes out. I really wanna take my son to see it. But I dont know if our theatre will have it showing on the mommy/baby days. I may just have to wait for it to come out on video.

  5. Hsien: Now I have my expert when I need to do some research. :) That’s my biggest tip to parents wanting their children to read more—choose a topic or character that they’re interested in! Good move.

Karen: “Transformers, robots in disguise.” Thanks so much for getting THAT stuck in my head. ;)

Jenny: I still need to check if any of our local theaters have mommy/baby days. Those sound like fun. I don’t think I see any movies anymore until they’re out on video! Thanks for commenting. :)

  6. “Walk like an egyptian.” There. Now the transformers song isn’t in your head. lol :D

Ah… memories… I seem to remember that there were a couple that actually transformed into SIX different things: robot, airplane, boat, car, another thing, and yet another thing.

Then there were the ones that were transformers on their own, but if you had all six you could put them together into the gnarly huge robot! Constructicons, I think.

Funny: I wonder how infuriated parents got that we could memorize how to transform all of these things, but times tables and history facts… not so much.

  8. Bald Man: I remember the huge robots. One more thing to collect and them to make money on.

I remember being annoyed at people that could memorize rap songs, but not spelling words and multiplication facts (and I was in elementary school). lol You could tell I was going to be a teacher.
