New Easy Bake Oven Line and a Bake Off

Yesterday I talked about the Easy Bake Oven I remembered from my childhood. Today I want to talk about a more modern version of one of my childhood favorites.
This spring the Easy Bake Oven and Snack Center reinvented it’s classic aqua color. The latest oven has the classic side load and heats with a 100 watt light bulb. The Snack Center comes with three different mixes, two baking pans, two utensils, a pan pusher, two warming cups and recipes/instructions.

Hasbro added to the line with an Easy Bake Decorating Sensation Frosting Pen. The pen can be used to put finishing touches on your little chefs wonderful creations.

To help kick off the new line the folks at Easy Bake had a bake off that started last fall and ended this spring in Disney World, the contestants weren’t the typical bake off contestants, they were kids (with an adult sous chef to assist), and they cooked their delicious recipes in their Easy Bake Ovens.
In May, after a nationwide search for America’s best young baker, Ohio resident Catherine Ralston was named the Easy-Bake “Baker of the Year” for her delicious ‘Queen of Hearts Strawberry Tart’ creation. As part of her grand prize, she is touring food-related sites in San Francisco in July with her family. While there, she will actually teach a class one afternoon at the CA Culinary Academy how to make her treat!
It’s fun to see a whole new generation making fun memories with one of my childhood favorites.
