Nostalgia Toy #11 – The Easy Bake Oven

One year for my daughter’s birthday, we did a Nostalgia toy theme. My husband and I remembered how much fun we had with these toys and we knew that she would love them too.
Besides, all the toys and characters I played with and loved are back. It’s amazing! I think my kids are getting tired of hearing me say, “Oh, I had one of those” or “Those were popular when I was your age”.
So for her birthday that year we bought her a Lite Brite, Strawberry Shortcake dolls and the ever-so-popular Easy Bake Oven.
I remember the Easy Bake Oven very well. I felt like such a cool kid getting to bake cookies and cakes. The fact that I could bake something with a light bulb was just the greatest thing ever.
My daughter was very excited about her oven and we used up the baking packages that came with it very fast. We haven’t pulled it out in awhile to bake anything but I think it’s time. I’m craving some cake!
I noticed that they have an Easy Bake Party Planner and an Easy-Bake Cookbook
that I think I may look into getting. We need some new recipe ideas. I’ll let you know if we bake anything new.

That is the single coolest idea I have ever heard.. a nostalgia party for a kid. I wanted an easy bake oven sooooooo bad as a kid. I never got one. I also wanted a Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. REALLY wanted the snow cone machine. Anyhow, I had this nice boyfriend for years and he hunted down two Snoopy Snow Cone Machines at thrift stores for me. Now how neat is that.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun, for her and us.
I wanted that snow cone machine too!! Nice boyfriend sounds sweet. Is he still single?
For you, not me, lol!
