Nostalgia Toy #5: Cootie Games

I love that the Cootie Games are all still around. It’s fun to have a few games that both my 3 and 5 year old can enjoy playing together with out it being too challenging or too boring for either. Although all of the little Cootie pieces are a pain to have scattered about when the baby is around.
We just got Don’t Break the Ice for my three year old for his birthday. Ants in the Pants looked like it might be a bit frustrating for him yet, and I didn’t see any of the Don’t Spill the Beans game. He was bummed that he couldn’t play the game before bedtime, and so was I! I have fun memories of playing these games as a kid, and now I’m looking forward to more memories made over a few games with my own children.
What were your favorite childhood games that you’re getting excited about sharing with your kids?
Those are the best games–they’re easy to play, inexpensive, and colorful. My kids love Cooties especially. But Memory and Candyland are favorites too.
Michelle: That was one of the best parts, they aren’t expensive at all! I think one of them might even have been on sale for 5 bucks. The kids do love Memory. My oldest loves it when she beats me at it, which doesn’t seem that hard anymore!
have fun with break the ice…One of those 25 minutes to set up, 25 seconds to play games. but what makes a 4 yr old happier than a game where you are supposed to hammer and break things?
Hey Heidi! I really should have asked you about that game before I bought it. I remembered the fun breaking part, but totally forgot all about the set up! Don’t ask how I thought that all would go, I’m sure I didn’t even think of it.
