Podcasts for Children and Parents

Maybe I’m the last person on earth who doesn’t have an MP3 player. Even my parents have them! I haven’t really gotten into the whole podcast thing until recently but so many great podcasts have popped up lately that I think I’d be missing out if I don’t start listening to them.
I’ve previously written about Storynory where Natasha reads aloud classic children’s stories. My son is starting to enjoy these kinds of recordings (more about a new favorite another time) so there’s another motivation to get an MP3 player. Not too hard to convince me, is it? 
Another fun podcast is at Just One More Book!! Three times a week (how do they find the time?!), Andrea and Mark go to their favorite coffeeshop to talk about their family’s favorite children’s books. The best part of it is that they highlight books that most of us have probably never heard of (at least I haven’t) and interview artists and authors. Each podcast is charming with a warm, intimate, yet fun feel to it. I’ll be listening regularly even if I have to borrow my husband’s PSP to do it.

I also recommend a site called http://www.bookbox.com. It’s not a podcast, but they have many animated children’s stories in various languages which you can download for your iPod video.
