Play Library

Pots, pans, and wooden spoons

Granite Ware 22 Inch Covered Rectangular RoasterThose are the objects of entertainment for the day. It started when the one year old grabbed a pot from the drawer. The older 2 thought it was a brilliant idea, grabbed a few of their own with the addition of a few wooden spoons. “Why not?” I thought. “I don’t have a migraine today (yet), and surely this is a step toward acheiving #3 of my playtime resolutions.” Besides, I have a few posts to write. :)

Anyway, seeing the oldest two with their pots and spoons, the youngest decided he couldn’t be outdone. He grabbed the lid to the turkey roaster, which he could barely carry, and marched on into the living room with his new prize and his wooden spoon. Makes for a *fun* noisy day! (Don’t worry, all the sharp knives and such are locked up!)

  1. My sound sensitive boy was playing drums today too but on a cardboard box with wooden “drumsticks.” He’s very considerate, don’t you think?

Some of my DS’s favorite toys! In our old place we had a cabinet filled with old pots, pans, wooden spoons and various containers. He would spend much of his time while I was cooking or working in the kitchen playing with them. I’m now reminded to set up one in our new house. Thanks

  3. Hsien: How very considerate of S! He can come play here anytime!!! :D Hmmm….think I could convince my kids that a pillow and some pipe cleaners would make a good drum? ;)

MC Milker: Gotta love the easy access stuff that keeps the kids occupied while we get things done!! Our kids also love the Tupperware/Rubbermaid cabinet. Lots of fun bowls and lids to keep them entertained! Thanks for commenting. :)
