Product Recall: Reebok Children’s Windsuits

The zipper on this Reebok windsuit made by Adjmi Apparel Group has a Reebok logo applique on the clear rubber zipper pull that can come off and choke kids. These windsuits are now being recalled. I don’t post every single product recall of children’s products that I find because there are, sadly, too many and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has an excellent website that tracks it all.
This one attracted my attention because I immediately had the image in my head of children I know who chew on their zipper pulls when they feel anxious. It’s a nervous tick that’s easily satisfied by whatever is near to their mouth and zippers are definitely convenient.
Although it’s impossible to keep our kids safe from every conceivable danger, sometimes it’s a good idea just to check on them. In preparation for summer, check out the CPSC Summer Safety Tips.

You’re right. I’ve seen quite a few older kids with zipper pulls in their mouths, absent mindedly chewing on them.

Dirty Butter: Makes me wonder if we should encourage them to bite their fingernails!
Everything seems to find their way into kids mouths… I remember a penny episode… so even if they don’t choke, there still is a risk!

Weary Parent: Pennies! AHHHHHH. Scary.
It seems like there is a new product recall everyday. I am especially concerned about all the recalls on children’s toys and household products. I set up a personal file that alerts me to all product recalls and it sends me a timely notice when one of my products has been recalled.
