Save Money on Holiday Shopping

Holiday shopping can be very expensive.  With the economy in a shambles, I thought I’d share some suggestions for saving money on holiday shopping, particularly toy shopping.

First, visit coupon sites to get discount codes.  There are a wide variety of coupon websites where you can find discount codes for hundreds of online stores.  Some sites even provide coupons that you can print out and take to a brick-and-mortar store.  Two of my favorite coupon sites are:

Also, take some time to visit the websites for stores where you think you’ll be doing a lot of shopping this year.  Sign up for their email alerts.  You’ll get coupon codes and promotional discount offers in your mailbox, so you know exactly when the best time is to order.

Finally, visit manufacturer websites and sign up for their email alerts.  For example, if you know your child wants a specific toy made by Little Tikes, visit the Little Tikes website, and check to see if they offer an email alert program (Little Tikes does by the way, you can find it here).  Then sign up!  You’ll get notices in your inbox whenever a new sale, promotion or discount is available.

What are some of your favorite coupon websites or tips for saving money on holiday shopping?  Leave a comment and share your ideas.
