The bright green item pictured here is the KABOOST Portable Chair Booster and I believe, is one of the best inventions for young kids that I have seen. When I received this product in the mail, I had one of those “why didn’t I think of that” moments.
What is the KABOOST? Here’s a description from the manufacturer:

When I received this product in the mail, I had one of those “why didn’t I think of that” moments.

What is the KABOOST? Here’s a description from the manufacturer:

KABOOST is a compact and portable chair booster that raises the height of kitchen and dining room chairs so your child can sit at the table just like a grown up. Using an adjustable spring system, KABOOST snaps-on to chairs in mere seconds. The spring-loaded arms firmly grip chair legs into place, and KABOOST stays attached even when the chair is moved or repositioned.

KABOOST has a choice of two height positions equivalent to the same heights of standard booster seats allowing a child to grow with it. Its non-slip rubberized feet will not scratch floors. As lightweight and compact as it is, KABOOST is extremely sturdy holding up to 300 lbs. and is engineered to improve chair stability. Children reach a certain point in which they no longer want to sit in a special chair or booster seat. A child wants to be just like his mom and dad or older siblings. In fact, many children would rather sit on their knees and eat rather than use a booster seat.

That’s where KABOOST comes in – a child can sit and reach the table just like everyone else. The empowering feeling of KABOOST gives kids the ability to develop a sense of independence and gain self-confidence, even their self-esteem will likely improve as they begin to feel a part of the family. KABOOST has been tested and approved by independent testing laboratories. Its recommended age range for children is 20 months to 6 years old.

My 3 year old uses his KABOOST and just loves it. We had reached the point where he was out of his high chair and we tried the booster seat that you place in the chair. Since my 3 year old wants to be just like his older siblings and he thinks he’s as old as them, he wanted nothing to do with a booster seat. He wanted to sit in a “real chair” as he calls it.

When I received the KABOOST in the mail, we put it on one of our chairs and he was very proud of his new gadget. It wasn’t hard to put on the chair at all and the chair fits very snugly and secure on the KABOOST.

He is now able to sit up to the table and lean over his plate while he eats. He also feels pretty cool being as tall as everyone else. I really wanted to take a picture of him using his KABOOST, but he wasn’t in the mood. I’ll sneak one in soon and post it for you to see.

I am extremely happy with this product and have been recommending it to all my friends. We’ve already had a couple of people call dibs on it when we are done. I guess they’ll have to draw straws or something. Everyone who has come over instantly notices it and asked “what is that?!” and they are pretty impressed when I tell them about it.

If you have a toddler who has reached that point where he doesn’t need the high chair anymore, but needs a “boost” to be able to reach the table, I am fairly certain that you and your little one will love the KABOOST. The product is sturdy enough to hold on to and pass down to the other children, or friends who are begging for it.

The KABOOST runs for around $36 on Amazon and right now you can get free shipping. This would make a great and original Christmas present for that daughter-in-law who is so hard to buy for.
