Encouraging Children In The Garden

Besides blogging here at Play Library, I also blog at a gardening blog called Mother Earth’s Garden. I’m a huge fan of gardening. I always encourage my son to enjoy getting outside and getting his hands dirty.
While he doesn’t always enjoy gardening the way I hope he will (he’s more into the bugs and worms and making dirt roads to drive his trucks down), he does get out there and help me do some planting and once in a while weeding.

Plant a Garden with the Kids

My 3 year old greets me this morning with, “Happy Winter Day, Mommy!” In fact, we only have a tiny patch of snow left after weeks of the yard being blanketed in it. But, we’ve finally hit March and now there is hope of spring in the air, though I do hear it’s supposed to snow this weekend. Ah well, soon it’ll be 90 degrees out and snow will sound refreshing….but not quite yet.
