The kids will be out of school soon for the summer (here it’s coming up in a couple more weeks). During the summer one of my favorite things is to get outside and do something as a family. Here are some fun ideas you can use to get outside more as a family this summer (the kids might even learn something, but don’t tell them that).

Happy Spring! Get Outside and Play

Today is the official beginning of Spring! It’s time to get outside and play with your kids. It’s still a little chilly at times, but it’s great to get outside and enjoy a little fresh air and some sunshine.
Let your children help you get your garden started. Teach them how to plant and grow things. It is wonderful to watch your child grow up in tune with nature (versus video games).

An early Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mommies out there! I know that for me, the ideal way to honor me for Mother’s Day would be allowing me to sleep in as late as humanly possible, followed maybe by a pedicure, and dinner by myself with a book (only time for dinner when you sleep until about 4 in the afternoon ).

Plant a Garden with the Kids

My 3 year old greets me this morning with, “Happy Winter Day, Mommy!” In fact, we only have a tiny patch of snow left after weeks of the yard being blanketed in it. But, we’ve finally hit March and now there is hope of spring in the air, though I do hear it’s supposed to snow this weekend. Ah well, soon it’ll be 90 degrees out and snow will sound refreshing….but not quite yet.
