My son is totally in love with the new GX Racers™ from Jakks-Pacific. He has a couple of the cars and one of the race tracks, and he’s been practicing his moves. Every time we go to the store he’s scoping out a new track or a new Racer to add to his growing collection.

Virtual pets have come a long way in the last few years. The latest evolution is Zhu Zhu pets, adorable new cuddly hamsters from Cepia. They promise to be one of the hot new toys for Christmas 2009 that you’ll have a hard time finding in stock. They’re even having a hard time keeping them in stock at Amazon. I know, it’s only July, why am I talking about Christmas already? Because I’m sure all the toy manufacturers out there are definitely thinking ahead and working hard to make sure they have the “next big thing” this Christmas. The toy that everyone is waiting in line for. That toy that everyone wants, and the manufacturer (errr, Santa) just can’t make enough of.
