]]> Disney and Pixar have announced 10 animated films they plan to release in 3D by 2012.  Four of the films will be released on DVD, and it sounds like a great collection of movies for kids.  Here’s the schedule for the Disney Pixar 3D movies:

Films

  • 2008:  WALL?E coming on June 2 and Bolt coming on November 26
  •  2009: Up and The Princess and the Frog coming Christmas Day
  • 2010: Toy Story 3 coming in the summer and Rapunzel coming on Christmas Day 
  • 2011: newt coming in the summer and The Bear and the Bow coming for Christmas 
  • 2012: Cars 2 and King of the Elves coming for Christmas

Disney DVD and Blu-Ray

  • 2008: Tinker Bell coming October 28
  • 2009: Tinker Bell North of Never Land (working title)
  • 2010: Tinker Bell A Midsummer Storm (working title)
  • 2011: Tinker Bell A Winter Story

I can’t wait for Toy Story 3 and Cars 2!

]]> The American Girl Movie Collection (Samantha - An American Girl Holiday / Felicity - An American Girl Adventure / Molly - An American Girl on the Home Front)The bulk of our family has been down with a nasty stomach virus for the last few days, and the three kids who are normally bouncing off the walls were starting to get a bit bored with the whole “resting” bit.

For my oldest, at least, the The American Girl Movie Collection that she received from her grandma for her birthday was just about the perfect distraction. Just at the point where the, “I hate this. I’m sooo bored!!!” mantra was starting to get more than just annoying, Baldman hooked the laptop up in her room and she watched all three movies on the computer. I still haven’t seen them, yet, but she seemed to really appreciate them yesterday! Thanks, Mom. :D

I think once we’re all through this (the baby hasn’t gotten it, yet, and we’re hoping he stays clear of it!), I think I’ll be heading over to Bath Body Junky for some tips on getting rid of these continually developing dark and puffy circles under my eyes! Mom needs some playtime and pampering, too, don’t you think? ;)

]]> The Little Mermaid (Two-Disc Special Edition)The DVD release of Disney’s The Little Mermaid is next Tuesday, October 3rd.

I’m really looking forward to it. We have the VHS at grandma’s house, but the tape has been watched so many times that we’re afraid it’s going to break! As a result, my kids have only seen this movie once or twice. I can’t wait for The Little Mermaid to be a part of their world.

Did you know that it won two Oscars and was nominated for another? Not bad for a cartoon. ;)
