A good friend recently gave us a copy of one of his family’s favorite kids’ music CDs, Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies by Andrew Peterson and Randall Goodgame.
The songs on this album are fun, some soothing, some not so soothing (but funny as all get out!), and touching. You listen to some and know they were just written in the middle of the night by a sleep deprived parent who was caring for a new baby.
Our kids love listening to the songs, and giggling along with the silly lyrics. And, to be honest, those of us considered grown-ups [...]
Post from: Play Library

The songs on this album are fun, some soothing, some not so soothing (but funny as all get out!), and touching. You listen to some and know they were just written in the middle of the night by a sleep deprived parent who was caring for a new baby.

Our kids love listening to the songs, and giggling along with the silly lyrics. And, to be honest, those of us considered grown-ups in the house do as well. And how can you not with lyrics like this:

Bears, bears, they got no cares
Bears don’t drink from a cup
Sharp teeth and claws and furry paws
To catch you and eat you up
No, grizzly bears don’t wear underwear
Socks, or jammies, or gloves
No baby bears, don’t wear diapers
No Pampers, no Huggies, no Luvs

from Bears (Jonah’s Song)

Thanks, friend, for the fun new album! Go here to listen to God Made Me and Bears, two singles from the CD. Let me know if you enjoy them!

I can only imagine that this little creation came about after a morning of me telling my oldest son, “Please find something else to do besides bang on that drum!” Well, when you’re asked to stop playing one instrument, it’s best just to find another, yeah?
Actually, I don’t remember what prompted this activity; probably just the curiosity of a three year old. Jake wrapped this rubber band around the knobs of our side table (can any parent of a preschooler read that last phrase and not think of Side Table Drawer from Blue’s Clues? ), and [...]
Post from: Play Library

We’ve had the Christmas music playing through the house since the beginning of December. We only play it once a year, so might as well get a year’s worth of listening crammed into that month, yeah? The kids do enjoy it, but also like to hear something that was performed more with them in mind.
Enter: Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas. We picked up the Wiggles Christmas CD from the library a week or two ago when we went to visit Santa.
