When I got the heads-up from Karen about an Easy Bake Oven recall, I remembered that Hsien had reported one back earlier in the year. It seems that the issues that were causing concern in February have not yet been properly addressed, and now I’ve seen them use the word amputation. Yep, definitely worth bringing up again.

Magnetix Toy Recall

Following up on my previous warning about the dangers of swallowing parts from the Magnetix toy, the company has decided to officially recall 3.8 million kits. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received reports of 34 incidents. And reader Melissa wrote to tell us about her family’s near death experiences with Magnetix.

Product Recall: Reebok Heart-Shaped Charm Bracelets

Just a few days after swallowing the heart off a free charm bracelet that came with a pair of Reebok shoes, 4-year-old Jarnell Brown was dead. The heart charm was pure lead and the level of lead in Jarnell’s blood was three times higher than what is considered dangerous.
Better safe than sorry. Get rid of any cheap trinkets and costume jewelry within children’s reach.
