TV Kart for Grocery Shopping Entertainment

The kids love it when we visit the grocery stores that have carts that are shaped like race cars, complete with steering wheels so that they can pretend they’re zipping around the store when we’re shopping. I was surprised, though, to come across these TV Karts when at another local grocery chain. These carts feature several different characters, including Barney, Bob the Builder, and The Wiggles.
Apparently, you toss $1 (US) in the machine, and then your child can watch a video of one of their favorite characters while you zip through your errands. One …read more
Results of the Alphabet Eating Challenge

A couple of weeks ago, Kate at Babylune issued an “Eating the Alphabet” challenge, and my family and I took her up on it, kinda. I’m not known for my excellent follow-through, but it was fun to attempt this challenge with the kids.
We started out by writing the alphabet, and then drawing pictures of all of the fruits and veggies we could think of with those letters. We never did come up with anything for Q or X, but I was impressed by how good the pictures of the watermelon and kiwi turned out. …read more

Kate must’ve known that I waited a day to go to the grocery, and that I’ve been thinking that I really must do a better job of bringing healthier foods into the house.
