Most Toys For Tots donation sites are reporting that their toy donations are down this year, and I’m sure the need is up in many areas. If you have some new, or gently used toys around the house you can find a drop off center near you at the Toys For Tots website.
I have some toys I’m going to take to a local donation center this Friday. I’d planned on doing it today, but our roads are more fit for ice skaters than cars, so I guess I’ll have to wait.

So, here in the U.S., we are in full swing of the commercialization of the holidays. I do think there were decorations and such displayed for sale before we even managed to get the yard sprinklers put away and start looking for our Halloween costumes.

The Marine’s annual Toys for Tots campaign is up and running for the upcoming holiday season.
From their website:
The Toys for Tots Foundation provides Marines the opportunity to bring the joy of Christmas to needy children and accomplish passive mentoring by serving as positive role models.
In addition to credit card/e-check and toy donations, you can donate through their website via PayPal, and ebay. You can even have the Toys for Tots program benefit from the donation of a vehicle. Who knew?
They’re looking for a few good men and women. Will you help them out?
Toys for Tots Coloring Contest

The UPS Store is kicking off the 2006 Toys for Tots compaign with a “Design Dale’s Ride” coloring contest. The contest is open to children ages 5-12 and the winning entry will be the design for this year’s The UPS Store/Toys for Tots #88 Ford that NASCAR legend Dale Jarrett will race on November 5 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Entries need to be submitted to any UPS Store location by Saturday, April 29 or by mail to:
