Last year I let you know that the stick had been inducted into the Toy Hall Of Fame, this year his friend the ball is joining him. I can’t think of two more deserving toys than stick and ball. Put them together and you’ve got a dynamic duo that’s hard to beat!

The other Toy Hall Of Fame inductees this year included the Big Wheel, and the Game Boy, both are also very deserving toys, but nothing can top the ball.

The ball is one of the most versatile toys ever invented, there are tons of games you can play with that one toy alone. It’s a universal toy favorite. Kids from everywhere know what to do when you present them with a ball.

I was also glad to see the Big Wheel included in this year’s Hall Of Fame. The Big Wheel brings back some great childhood memories for me, and I’m sure for many other people.

The Game Boy is another toy that has transformed itself over time, and only become more popular with each new transformation.

I think all of this years inductees were very deserving. You can find out more about this year’s Toy Hall Of Fame Inductees here.

I hope I can bring a unique perspective to Play Library, and of course, I’m thrilled to hear from Play Library’s readers. I’m always willing to try the next great toy or product. There are so many toys in my house right now that adding more doesn’t make a difference anymore. Anyone else out there in the same boat? Can you no longer see your floor through all the toys? Is there just no place left to put them all in your house? It’s nice to know I’m not the only one!

Connect Four was one of my favorite games ever when I was younger. It was always the most popular game for indoor recess on rainy or snowy days. I think I liked it best because the kid I happened to have a crush on also liked the game. I remember getting in trouble one day because we were both singing, “Help Me Rhonda” at the top of our lungs while we played. Not very conducive to quiet indoor time. Ah well. It was worth it for the memory.

After we got married, Bald Man and I started building up our own collection of family games, and Clue was one of the first on my list. For some reason, though, we decided to get crazy and pick up the spin-off, Clue-The Great Museum Caper. I’d have to argue the “great,” though Bald Man happened to love it. Other than the name and that there was a kind of mystery to solve, it basically was nothing that even closely resembled the original and in the end was a poor substitute.
