39Anyone near Stillwater, Minnesota? Teddy Bear Park is opening this weekend!

On the former Gordon Scrap Iron lot at the southeast corner of Second and Nelson streets, Teddy Bear Park is geared to children ages 6 months to 7 years. It includes a small amphitheater, a gazebo, themed play structures featuring antique toys and Stillwater’s history, a sandbox with a train station, and climbing walls.

What a wonderful way to make use of an old delapidated industrial site! And then to donate it to the city? Even more wonderful. Would that more wealthy citizens felt the responsibility to give back to the cities that provided their wealth.

And teddy bears at that!!!! Gee, I wonder why that caught my eye ;)

  2. Dirty Butter: Isn’t it fantastic? It sounds like a real treat for both kids and their families.

I absolutely love this park. It is the best outdoor park – its my favorite. I drive from Hammond, WI and pass many other parks just to enjoy this one. I love how clean it is, the fense around the whole park, the clean bathrooms.

We absolutely loved this park on our first trip there, we spent about 4 hours there. My daughter who is 5 loved it and did not want to leave. It is very clean and its nice because you can also walk downtown to the shops or to the water and watch the boats. Fun place to take your children too for the day:-)

  1. [...] So, whether your child has a favorite teddy bear, or some other beloved toy, don’t forget it on your next road trip. Maybe it’ll help them rest and sleep a little in the car. It didn’t work for mine, but I can hope it will for you! [...]
