The First Half of Our Trip to Colorado

Well, as I am writing this we are currently in Alabama, on our way to our first stop Arkansas. We left at around 5 am this morning and I’m already feeling a wee bit sleepy. So far the trip is going really well and everyone is on their best behavior. Let’s see…only 8 more hours to go. Oh dear.
Traveling with kids can be tough, but it is possible to make it enjoyable too. That is our goal through this whole ordeal is to make it enjoyable. I am trying not to stress about the little things and I am hoping that vibe will carry over to my kids.
We had kind of a rough start with our dvd player and that was no fun. One of the screens wasn’t working and we thought that our new player was already broken. Well, an hour into the trip I saw this little switch. Yep, that was the answer. Our kids are now happily watching 593 minutes of Full House, one of the BEST shows ever on television.
We have packed the car with healthy snacks and plenty of activities to keep the kiddos busy. Our oldest two received an early Christmas present, they each got a Nintendo DS and they are enjoying those a lot. My 3 year old received a couple of books, that I will tell you about later, and they are keeping him very happy and busy.
Alright, well my laptop battery is about to die. If only I had internet access. That sure would make the trip go faster for me! J

Hey Julie, I wish you well on your trip. I didn’t know you would be coming through Alabama. That’s where I am. You could have taken a little respite here, with me and my brood. Alabama is a great place to live. We love it. You can stop by anytime, just as long as you bring that Full House DVD with you!
Ah man….that would have been so much fun to meet you! We were supposed to be leaving tomorrow (Friday) for home, but a huge blizzard has stopped us in our tracks. I’m not disappointed though. It’s going to be very very hard to leave this place.
Alabama is beautiful. We have driven through it several times. I’ll shoot you an email the next time.
