The I-Dog family has a new member, meet I-Turtle, the rockin’ reptile. This adorable little turtle sways its head from side to side, taps its foot and moves its shell up and down as it flashes an array of colorful LEDs, all to the beat of the music.
A rock and roll turtle, too cute!
Kids can plug most hand-held music systems directly into I-Turtle and their music will play through a built-in speaker. I-Turtle works with most portable music devices.
I-Turtle uses 3 “AAA” batteries to operate, the first set is included.

Hushabye Baby~Popular Songs as Lullabies

I had a chance to check out a couple of Hushabye Baby’s lullaby renditions of some popular songs from popular singers like Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, and George Strait.
I enjoyed listening to the lullabies, I wasn’t sure what to expect when they asked me to check out the CD’s, but I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to them. I’ve actually been listening to them now when I want to chill out and relax.
The songs are very soft, instrumental versions. The gentle, dreamy versions are truly relaxing and soothing.
The Hushabye Baby CD’s would make a fun and …read more

It’s Tween Week!
What’s Tween Week? A random week I’ve chosen to talk about games and products for tweens here on PlayLibrary.
What’s a tween?
In case you live in a part of the world where the term tween is not yet part of common vernacular, a tween is that awkward age group when children are no longer little kids, but they have not truly entered the teenage years either. It’s those few years every parent dreads when they’re sweet, innocent children turn into evil, opinionated prepubescents. The horror!
Today’s tween product – Twister Moves: High School Musical 2 Edition Game

From what I have heard and read, if your kids love music, they they will thoroughly enjoy this CD World Playground by Putumayo Kids.
The reviews for this have been great and many parents have said that their kids love listening to the music and that they do too. There are several CD’s in the Putumayo Collection, but this one in particular has tracks from countries such as Africa, Australia, Europe, the Caribbean, South America and North America.
Here’s a little more about the CD:
Even if the multicontinent angle strikes you as too catholic, it bears reiterating that this is …read more
Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies

A good friend recently gave us a copy of one of his family’s favorite kids’ music CDs, Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies by Andrew Peterson and Randall Goodgame.
The songs on this album are fun, some soothing, some not so soothing (but funny as all get out!), and touching. You listen to some and know they were just written in the middle of the night by a sleep deprived parent who was caring for a new baby.
Our kids love listening to the songs, and giggling along with the silly lyrics. And, to be honest, those of us considered grown-ups …read more

I’ve been nominated for this week’s Hot Stuff Award at GNMParents. The post in question was my mention of Julie Aigner-Clark’s recognition in the State of the Union Address.
While I have nothing against the Baby Einstein products, I can’t honestly say that I’ve ever seen the videos, listened to the CDs, or played with the toys. I can see why Erica of GNMParents took my enthusiastic congratulations of Aigner-Clark as a promotion of her product.
In actuality, I was congratulating Aigner-Clark on harnessing her passion, sharing it with the world, and being able to make a …read more
Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas

We’ve had the Christmas music playing through the house since the beginning of December. We only play it once a year, so might as well get a year’s worth of listening crammed into that month, yeah? The kids do enjoy it, but also like to hear something that was performed more with them in mind.
Enter: Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas. We picked up the Wiggles Christmas CD from the library a week or two ago when we went to visit Santa. The kids have had a ball listening and dancing to it, which is nice because it keeps them …read more

These videos might not be very appropriate for younger children because of some of the subjects mentioned, but parents will enjoy seeing how classy The Wiggles are. Here are Murray Cook and Anthony Field on David Tench Tonight (a very weird show that I’ve never seen before).

You may not have known that Greg Page of The Wiggles also had a solo music career. Brettyfan of YouTube has compiled a mix of his solo songs. You can listen here. My four-year-old seemed to like these songs quite a lot as well. Must be the familiar, melodious voice.
