The new Playmobil Egyptian line includes a pyramid, an Egyptian Chariot, and a Royal Ship of Egypt. Kids can pretend like they’re living back in the Egyptian days, defending their pyramid from being invaded, by setting off traps to keep out invaders.

The Playmobil pyramid includes removable walls, a secret treasure chamber, four figures, a tomb and many more accessories for children to play with.

Kids can also play with an Egyptian chariot and travel through the desert with their imagination with two horses and the chariot, or get a pair of chariots to have chariot races with their friends.

With the Royal Ship of Egypt kids can pretend they’re sailing along the Nile River. The set includes three figures, and a functioning crossbow catapult. Yikes! The ship rolls on wheels or floats on water, and it can be upgraded with the Playmobil Underwater Motor.

The Eyeclops Bionic Eye SE is a smaller version of the original Bionic Eye by Jakks. The Bionic Eye is a simple handheld device that allows children (and adults) to view things on the TV at 200 times their size.

To view items you simply hook the Eye to the AV jacks of your television.

Hannah’s Kittens were developed by a mother-daughter team. Inspired by her own daughter’s love of kittens, Vicky Nichols named the company after her daughter Hannah (18). Together they plan on using a portion of the profits to encourage literacy among young girls, as well as funding local cat rescue groups.

The first edition set of kittens (pictured above) are named Daisy, Violet and Sweet Pea. These names were chosen by young school girls who voted on a long list of possible kitten names.

Each kitten has her own personality and way she likes to play. (See the “Meet the Kittens” section of the HannahsKittens.com website.) For example, Sweet Pea likes to be read to from their favorite storybooks.

Hannah’s Kittens encourage girls to become responsible pet owners. The company provides easy and understandable  age-appropriate advice on caring for cats and kittens on their website. The Cabbage Patch Kids are still one of my favorites to check out in the toy aisle. The new2009 Cabbage Patch Kids® line by JAKKS Pacific, Inc. includes everything little girls adore, surprises and hair play!

The new Pop n’ Style Cabbage Patch Kids come ready for hair styling fun. Each doll has comes with her own hair extensions that snap into place, and they of course come with the authentic Cabbage Patch birth certificate and adoption papers.

They even have one with curly brown hair! I may have to get her, just for nostalgia.

The Pop n’ Style Cabbage Patch Kids will be available this holiday season at most major retailers.

I love checking out the digital cameras out there these days for kids. It’s fun to see them have the opportunity to fall in love with photography like I did as a child.

We’ve been looking at digital cameras for my son. He’s a little beyond the kid’s digital cameras. He loves to grab my camera and play around with it. I was going to give him my older digital camera, but it bit the dust while we were on vacation.

If my son was a little younger I’d get him one of the new Fisher Price Kid-Tough Digital Cameras. They look like they’d hold up to rough handling, and the best part is they’re waterproof. The cameras have two settings, 0.3 and 1.3 interpolated mega pixels, which is lower than most cameras, but would still make nice smaller prints.

The Kid Tough Digital camera also has built in memory to store pictures, and a USB cable to hook it to your computer for easy download. Of course your kids will have an easier time downloading the pictures than you would!
