Did you know Star Wars has it’s own day? Today is the day, May 4th. Now you can go tell all your friends, “May the 4th be with you.” May 4th has become Star Wars day because some clever being came up with that saying.
So if you’re a fan, or just like to think you’re saying something clever to your friends, go forth and celebrate Star Wars Day, have a Star Wars marathon, and make sure you tell everyone you see, May the 4th be with you.
Everyone else… Happy May 4th!

What is the most versatile toy a kid can have? Hint: It doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, and it doesn’t require electricity.
Give up? The lowly stick just been inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame. I think it was a wonderful choice. I think it ranks right up their with their 2005 inductee, the cardboard box.
A stick can be anything your child can imagine, from a fishing rod, to a light saber, or magic wand.
According to the museum:
Each toy must not only be widely recognized and foster learning, creativity or discovery through play, but …read more

My daughter loves to play online dress up games. I have to give her a time limit or she’ll be on there all day. I’ve created a website called Fun Dress Up Games and it’s a safe place, with clean games, for young girls to come and dress up dolls, create room scenes, dress up their favorite celebrity and tons of animal dress up games.
I created this website because there is SO much junk out there and I wanted my daughter to have a place to "play" that I felt comfortable with.
So, come on over and play! Be sure …read more

Last night our whole family went with my son’s gymnastics team to a place called Lights of the South. It was so much fun and very cold too. I didn’t take any pictures because my camera has been acting up, but my fingers were too frozen to operate it anyway. I’ve added a couple of pictures here that they have on their website, but it definitely doesn’t do the up close and personal experience justice.
What is Lights of the South? Well, there is so much to do! We started out on the main attraction, which is the hayride …read more

Every Christmas, the kids and I try to decide what presents to give their teachers. This year we are trying to cut down on costs, so we are making them all kinds of Christmas goodies – chocolate covered pretzels, sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies and M&M brownies. These are all things my kids can make easily and I know it’s going to be a blast. My kitchen may not recover from the baking but that’s okay. Who needs a clean kitchen during the holidays anyway right?
Well, I was searching around trying to find some teacher present ideas to share with …read more
