New Language Games For Preschoolers

New Language Games For Preschoolers

Today I have some new games that help address language developmental problems for preschoolers from Fun and Function. There are seven new games to address the speech-language delays and disorders that affect 5-10% of the population.

The games include the Memory Matching Game which helps children learn the plural form of irregular nouns like goose and geese, foot and feet, mouse and mice. It’s designed to improve concentration skills.
The Mad-Magnet Match series comes in a travel tote with large magnetic pieces and play activities that teach Opposites, Associations, and Part-to-Whole Relationships.
Finally there’s the Cool Cards series. All of the games have …read more

Leap Frog~ Back To School

Leap Frog~ Back To School

Leapfrog has a new DVD coming out, just in time for back to school. In their new DVD, Tad and Lilly are back and getting ready to, you guessed it, go back to school. The DVD titled Leap Frog: Let’s Go To School will hit stores on August 18th, just in time for Lilly and Tad to help your preschoolers get over their nervousness of heading off to school themselves.

My son used to love the Leapfrog characters when he was younger. We had several of the Leapfrog games and DVD’s. Of course he’s outgrown them now, and he’s on to …read more

New Zoobie~ Lilly The Ladybug

New Zoobie~ Lilly The Ladybug

There’s a new Zoobie in town, Lilly the Ladybug is in stock just in time for summer. Check her out isn’t she just cuddly and adorable? She looks like quite the friendly little ladybug.
All the Zoobies are cute and cuddly, plush animals, and pillows, that can turn into a blanket. Zoobies can be comforting friends, a soft place to lay a head, or a warm and snuggly blankie. Perfect for wee little hands to hold. Where were these when I was a kid?

Star Wars Mr. Potato Head Toys – Great for Kids or Collectors

Star Wars Mr. Potato Head Toys – Great for Kids or Collectors

My triplets turned 4 years old this summer, and one of them loves Star Wars.  Imagine my excitement when I found Star Wars Mr. Potato Head toys at a store in Downtown Disney one day when I was birthday shopping!
Some of the same Star Wars Mr. Potato Head toys that I bought for my kids that day are now available through the Toys ‘R Us website, and they would make great gifts for children, Star Wars collectors or Mr. Potato Head fans!  These Star Wars Mr. Potato Head toys are recommended for ages 2 and up and cost only …read more

Real-Action Automatic Bowling Alley Toy – Review

Real-Action Automatic Bowling Alley Toy – Review

My triplets turned 4-years old last week, and they love bowling.  They’ve only been to a real bowling alley once, but they’ve played bowling video games at arcades many times and absolutely love them.  We have a few traditional bowling alley toys with the plastic ball and pins, but I get so tired of setting the pins up for them again and again.  When I saw the Real-Action Automatic Bowling Alley toy in the Toys to Grow On catalog, it looked like a toy they would love and a perfect solution to my pin problem.

iPlay Aquatrax Water Adventure – Review

iPlay Aquatrax Water Adventure – Review

Last month, I posted about the iPlay Aquatrax Deluxe Water Adventure System asking if PlayLibrary readers could help me decide whether or not I should buy it for my triplets’ fourth birthday.  Then I got the smaller version (pictured) called the iPlay Aquatrax Water Adventure to test from International Playthings.  Here is my review based on my nearly 4-year old triplets’ responses to it.

Melissa and Doug Tree House Play Set – Very Cool

Melissa and Doug Tree House Play Set – Very Cool

I love Melissa and Doug toys, and I planned on writing about the Melissa and Doug Mailbox today (don’t worry, keep your eyes on PlayLibrary for that review in the coming days).  However, as I prepared to write about the mailbox, I stumbled on the Melissa and Doug Tree House Play Set, and was stopped dead in my tracks when I saw it.
This toy looks so cool.  I’ve seen other tree house play sets, but they’re usually made with plastic and lots of small pieces that have to stick together.  The Melissa and Doug Tree House Play Set is …read more

iPlay Aquatrax Deluxe Water Adventure System – Yay or Nay?

iPlay Aquatrax Deluxe Water Adventure System – Yay or Nay?

If you read PlayLibrary frequently, then you know my triplets’ fourth birthday is coming this summer. I gave them a catalog from Sensational Beginnings this week and asked them to tell me if they saw anything they wanted me to get them for their birthday. Of course, they wanted everything in the catalog, but one toy that really stood out to them was the iPlay Aquatrax Deluxe Water Adventure System.

Elmo Live – The Hot Toy for the Holidays

It’s not even June yet and already the toy world is buzzing about Elmo Live. In fact, the buzz started earlier this year at the 2008 Toy Fair. You can be sure that Elmo Live will be the “it” toy this holiday season.
Elmo Live is supposedly the next big thing in interactive toys. While previous interactive Elmo toys have laughed and danced, Elmo Live will move his mouth when he speaks, bob his head back and forth, wave his arms, sit, stand, cross his legs, blow kisses, clap his hands, tell stories, tell jokes, sing songs and play games. Elmo …read more
