I’ve heard a ton of buzz lately about the Where The Wild Things Are movie coming out this fall (it actually premieres October 16th). I’m a huge fan of the Where The Wild Things Are book by Maurice Sendak. I can still remember the first time I heard the story at our school library when the librarian read it to the class.

Here’s a great video slide show of some of the high end dolls that were shown at the 2008 New York Toy Fair. They have some beautiful dolls from Harry Potter, Spiderman, Nancy Drew and many others. I think my favorites were the Pirates of the Caribbean dolls. The dolls are all from Tonner Doll.

I am really looking forward to the “Horton Hears a Who” movie. It looks really great! It’ll be released in the US on March 14th.

I saw some really interesting and fun toys on there. My boys would love the sports games and the nascar toys. That Yackle Ball looked very interesting!
There were so many amazing new toys introduced at the toy fair and I am still digging up information about them. The theme seemed to be safety and education and of course, a lot of just plain ‘ol fun thrown in there.

Mattel introduced a lot of new toys at the 2008 New York Toy Fair based on their four “toy trends”.
The “toy trends” are toys that connect to the internet; toys that utilize technology to enrich role-playing and inspire imagination; toys that create and provide learning experiences; toys utilizing technology for realistic, life-like features and extreme interactive fun.

Toys you will see in the video include “Elmo Live”, kid-magnets, Dora the Explorer and Diego.
Mattel’s message is “to learn while having fun“. Just don’t tell the kids that okay?

The 2008 New York Toy Fair is bringing out some really cool toys. The CBS Early Show had the lucky opportunity of trying some of the toys out. Here’s a video clip of the Furreal Friends Biscuit-My Lovin’ Pup, Ultimate Dance and Sing Hannah Montana, Tyco R/C Pro Turbo Wheelie Cycle and Air Hogs Zero Gravity Micro. I thought all of these looked like a lot of fun!
