Plug It In & Play TV Games™ are perfect for kids, because you don’t have to worry about them tearing up an expensive gaming system while they’re playing.

The latest TV games from Jakks-Pacific even feature motion control. Now when kids move the controls they also control the action on screen as characters replicate their movements in real time on the TV screen when they jump, wave, and move around.

Some of the planned TV Games Motion titles from Jakks include Star Wars: Clone Wars, Toy Story, SpongeBob SquarePants, Spider-Man, Disney Fairies, and Power Rangers.

The games are geared toward children 5 and up, and all have a price point of around $29.99 retail. They’ll be available at major retailers and online at Amazon.com.

1. Mario & Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story tells the story of what happens when Bowser eats a magic mushroom that causes him to inhale everything around him, including Mario and Luigi. Microbe size Mario and Luigi have to battle their way back out while rescuing Princess Peach. Meanwhile Bowser is battling to save his castle from an arch villain.
2. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days features several of Disney’s top characters, and continues the Kingdom Hearts story by filling in the missing chapter. Players can dive into the game to discover the connection between Roxas, Sora, and the new fourteenth member of the Organization. The game also contains a new panel system which allows players to customize their character’s levels, items, magic, weapons, abilities, armor and accessories.
3. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is the latest game in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series for DS. Players can become a Pokémon, and can also hook up via WiFi to play with friends their friends. This game tops my son’s Christmas wish list.
4. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games lets players compete in real Olympic Winter events, and over-the-top Dream Events. Your child can compete in the winter Vancouver Winter Olympics, and learn about the events, even if they’re not a star athlete.
5. Scribblenauts challenges players to solve spatially oriented puzzles. Anything you write with your stylus can be used and reused during the game. There are thousands of items you can use in the game, from ladders and ropes, to invisibility capes and black holes. Use your problem solving skills with the objects to get yourself through the game.

Starfy looks like a cute and cuddly little star, but he’s really a villain fighting hero. With his rough and tough sidekick Starfy is on a mission to help a visitor who’s lost his memory.

The Legendary Starfy (like many popular DS Games) comes originally from Japan. It challenges players to fight their way through tricky mazes, and puzzles under the sea, and above the ground. Players can battle each other with up to 3 friends, or team up and play the game together with a friend.

My son’s still working his way through the levels, and enjoying the game when he’s not busy playing with all the extra new gadgets on his DSi.

We checked out some of the online applications, and the store. I’m trying to figure out how to download books to either the DSi or the DS Lite. If I can figure it out I’m going to adopt his DS Lite.

I’ve been thinking about getting an iPod touch, but if I can do the same thing on the Nintendo DS, I’ll just take over his DS Lite. Of course as soon as I get it all set up he’ll decide to reclaim his old DS and I’ll be out of luck.

Kids can go online and upload their ‘playset’ creations to the website from their desktop toy box to play with others in the sandbox. They can also comment on the playsets of other players.

Souptoys has over 20,000 “kid created playsets” uploaded on the site.

Souptoys is built on the real-world nature of the toys, based on physics principals, so it also makes for a learning experience, but don’t tell the kids they might learn something!

The game duplicates a child’s wooden toy box full of toys, including basketballs, robots, wooden blocks, snowmen, cannons, flying bees and a pirate ship. With its open-ended design, the possibilities are endless and players are limited only by their imagination.

Big kids will probably enjoy the game as much as the little ones, so don’t come back and tell me I didn’t warn you after you’ve downloaded some toys for yourself.

LEGO Rock Band is a brilliant combination, how can they go wrong? I’m loving the drum LEGO dude, he’s adorable!

LEGO Rockband will be hitting stores just in time for the holidays later this year.

You’ll be able to rock out with your favorite LEGOs on PS3, 360, DS, and Wii. The game is supposed to be more family friendly, and feature kid friendly songs.

I keep telling my son that I’m going to buy myself a DSi. He says no way, if I buy one it’s his. Hmmm.

Ok, so the new DSi does have some other notable features.

• Larger screens
• Better sound (with both a recorder and a player)
• Browse the web
• A slimmer design
• DSiWare~ Developers can create software for the DSi

There’s a new Legendary Pokemon in the mix for you to capture, and he says the story line has changed just a little from previous versions.

He’s a true Pokemon fan, he enjoys catching training, and battling his Pokemon against his cousins. Since my nephew is another Pokemon fan (he has the new Platinum and the Official Game Guide to go with it) they were thick into plotting out their game play earlier tonight.

The Goosebumps Horrorland video game takes you on a thrilling ride through a fright themed amusement park. You can battle the Scorpion of Doom, vanquish vampires, or see if you can hang on to the Roller Ghoster.

My son loves the Goosebumps book series, and he had a chance to check out the game and gave it his seal of approval.

This game’s not for the younger crowd, since it does contain animated Blood, crude humor, and mild fantasy violence. Hmmm, sounds like most of the other video games my son thinks are really cool, no wonder he likes this one so well.
