When he got the game in hand he sat down to play, and played for a couple hours. I had to drag him away for supper. I asked him to write up a little about the game, what he thought, and about the characters. I also asked him if it was confusing to play the game since he has never played the original Blue Dragon game. His response?

He said he had no problem understanding the game by jumping in where this game begins. He actually said the part about the game he didn’t like was all the talking they did about the game. He also didn’t care for the videos that interrupted his game time.

Blue Dragon Plus begins one year after Shu and his companions defeated the tyrannical remnant of the Ancients, Nene.

Over all he’s been enjoying the game, and it doesn’t seem to bother him that he never played the original Blue Dragon.

Rock Band 2 will have 84 new songs, and you can import most of your songs from the original Rock Band. There will also be close to 500 songs available online for download by the end of the year.

The new version is supposed to have improved playability, and more options to compete with friends, and online. You can log on and compete to see if you’re the best in the country in the Battle of the Bands.

You can also go head to head with friends with the multi-player mode.

Rock Band 2 is already available for Play Station 3, and XBox 360, but it won’t be available for a few weeks yet for Wii (December 16th for the game, December 30th for the special edition). Since we have a Wii, and I look for Rock Band to be hard to find this Christmas I think he may have to re order his Christmas list. The wireless guitar game consoles are 31″ long and came in blue or white (see the pictures above).  They were sold at mass merchandisers and specialty retailers across the United States from June 2008 – September 2008 and retailed for $40-$60.  If you have one of these guitars, you should stop using it immediately, and return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund.

Will it be as hard to get a Wii this year as it was last year?  I certainly hope not, but if you’re at all concerned about it, you might want to get your Wii sooner rather than later. Toys ‘R Us has the Nintendo Wii Bundle package available online right now.  For $359.95, you get:

It seems like every tween wants a Nintendo DS, and some of the most popular games for kids in this age range are the LEGO games, particularly LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga at retail prices of $29.99 and $34.99, respectively.

Both of these games are rated E for Everyone and kids love them!  If your kids enjoy these games, then keep your eyes open for the new LEGO Batman game coming on September 23rd with a heftier price tag of $49.99.
