Toy Talk #9: Mom Tested Children’s Books
Books are by far my most favorite thing to buy children. But because I prefer to buy online, it can be hard to decide which are the most beautiful and fun to read. That’s why Mom Tested Children’s Books is a great blog to check out before you go on a book shopping spree.
Mom’s reviews are short and to the point. She also gives some great suggestions for how to read the books to children. For example, her post about Terrific Trains (Amazing Machines) by Tony Mitton:
There are lots of great illustrations that provoke my 3-year old to ask lots of questions. It is also easy to use this book to ask my son questions like “What is the rabbit doing?” and “Why is the bird there?”
I first met Mom when she left a comment at Play Library. Why don’t you leave a comment too? You’ll be entered in our first birthday contest and I might even feature your blog on a Sunday Toy Talk sometime.

Currently my kids are completely enamored with “Where’s Waldo?” books. They’re consumed with finding Waldo, luckily, because as my husband noted with some shock: “Waldo is actually pretty violent!”
Deb: Now I gotta get some Waldo books!!!
