Kevin Arthur at Question Technology pointed to this story out of London suggesting that parents give their kids old mobile phones to play with. He raises some very important considerations showing that this isn’t exactly the best idea.
- Choking hazards
- Toxic parts
- Radiation exposure
- Accidental dialing of emergency services
Good reminder for me because I probably would have given my old phone to my son as well! I’m just thrifty that way. *cough*NOT*cough* In any case, kids would certainly have more fun with one of the amazing toy phones available, including the above Playskool Cell Phone.
So what to do with your old mobile phone then? Kevin has some better ideas.
