What a Croc!

acroc.jpgHsien wrote awhile back about the Croc party she and her little guy attended, questioning the benefits of the authentic Crocs verses the knock-offs. Well, we’ve just accepted the first pair of kid Crocs into our house, and they are definitely here for the long haul, so I thought I’d share my first-hand review.

Grandma bought a pair for my oldest son because they were orange and he loves orange. He associates everything orange with Tigger (he’s constantly bouncing), so she thought he’d get a kick out of these. I wasn’t sure, because he is always the first one to take off his shoes in the house, the car, or anywhere else he can manage to pull them off. I didn’t think these would fare any better, but thought we’d give ‘em a go.

He LOVES them! He will not take them off! And I’ll tell you what, I’m thrilled, too. Not only are they great because he thinks they’re great, but they are so easy! He can put them on all by himself (he’s almost 3), they can be thrown under the faucet if they get dirty, they can be worn with or without socks, and are very kid friendly. I also happen to think they’re darn cute.

So cute, that I asked for a pair for myself for Christmas. My mom, having less delay of gratification abilities than even I do, went ahead and got some for Bald Man and me (my daughter is holding out for the pink in her size). I was actually bummed that they didn’t have any orange in my size, but they are oh-so-comfortable. They are now my all day slippers. My back actually feels better, the holes keep my feet cooler than slippers, and my toes no longer get knocked into every table leg. Love ‘em!!

My only thoughts on the knock-offs are that a friend bought some, then returned them because they hurt her feet so badly. I’d stick to the originals, but then I didn’t have to dole out the cash for mine, either. Thanks, Mom. ;)

My daughter wanted a pair and I’m not too excited about catering to the latest fad but we got her a pair and she loves them, I tried them on and they’re so comfortable and who doesn’t like those colors?

  2. I agree. It’s the colors that I think as so cool! :) But I don’t think they’re quite so comfy as socks. :P

  3. Michelle: I’m not one to go for the fads, either, but sometimes they become hugely popular for good reason—they’re actually a great product! I’m enjoying mine. :D

Hsien: Wood floors and my clumsy self in socks don’t mix very well, esp. coming down the stairs, or running my little piggies into table legs, the stove, walls and anything else possible! I do like how cool (temp-wise) they are, too. Can you tell I love ‘em? ;)

My friend bought my daughter a pair of knock offs. She loves them. I will say there are nice knock offs and then there are the ones I wouldn’t dare buy!!!! I really like these shoes because they’re so easy to get off and on and cleaning them is a breeze!!!

  5. Karen: I am all for the knock-offs if they’re comfy! We survive on bargain and store brands around here. Well, that, and stuff that grandma gifts us. ;)
