Win a Rubik’s Revolution

Revolution with boyRubik’s Cubes are hot this year but I wonder…. If I’ve never been able to solve one before, is there even a remote possibility that I could solve a Rubik’s Revolution?

The Rubik’s Revolution has six built-in games plus light, sound and voice effects. There are multiple levels and multi-player capabilities as well. No mention of cheat codes that I can see. Darn!

To win a Rubik’s Revolution before it’s available this summer, go sign up at their website. Videos of the Rubik’s Revolution in play are also available.

I had a chance to play this last week at ToyFair. It actually is very fun and all 6 games are very entertaining and challenging.

Anyone interested can pre order now at

Everywhere I go to learn about this someone has conveniently a) raved about it and b) told me where to preorder it. I smell a marketing person.

It looks bogus to me, though I prolly will own one. And no, I don’t believe supplies will be tight – there will be plenty, maybe not on day one… why not wait and get one in the cut-out bin at Toys R’Us for half price in six months or so? This product will not be around in 25 years whereas Rubik’s Cube will be around for-ever!

It is a shame the the niche available for a real electronic Rubik’s Cube has been filled with this. They must really need the money. Can we hope that one day some real engineers will make and sell us a real electronic Rubik’s Cube. not just some rebaked Merlin-in-a-Cube with a name guaranteed to produce hype and sales??

  3. Robert: Thanks for the comment! I figured Matt’s was harmless so I left it. But you gave us all a reality check. ;)

  1. [...] Now a new generation of kids, and an old generation of middle-aged people who still think they’re kids, can try to solve a new version of their favorite old game. Head on over to Hsien’s post to find out how you can try to win a yet-to-be released Rubik’s Revolution. Can you guess how anxious I am to get my hands on one of these?
